Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to feel completely comfortable.
Clear answers about how we work, what to expect and how we care for your pets and home.
Will I meet you before the first booking?+
Yes. Every new client relationship begins with a complimentary introduction so we can meet you and your pets, understand routines and agree access, updates and emergency arrangements.
Will I receive updates while I am away?+
Yes. We provide reassuring visit notes and photographs, with the frequency and method agreed as part of your care plan.
What times are home visits available?+
Home visits can be arranged from 6.00 am until 10.00 pm, subject to availability. Early-morning, daytime and evening visits can be combined around feeding, medication, toilet breaks and your pet’s usual routine. We provide scheduled visits rather than continuous in-home care and do not provide overnight stays.
Can you care for pets with medication or additional needs?+
In many cases, yes. Please tell us exactly what is required when enquiring so we can confirm that the care can be delivered safely and consistently.
Do you look after animals other than dogs and cats?+
Absolutely. We care for chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, sheep and other smallholding animals. We can also care for selected exotic pets when their routine is within our experience.
Can you bring my pet to our wedding?+
Yes. Our wedding pet chaperone packages can include collection, preparation, transport, support during photographs and the ceremony, comfort breaks and a safe journey home. Every package is planned around your pet, venue and timings.
What is included in an 8-acre private dog walk?+
Your dog enjoys a peaceful, individual walk on our own eight acres of private land near Stourbridge, away from busy public parks and large groups of dogs. The pace, route, lead arrangements, collection and transport are agreed around your dog at the complimentary meet and greet.
Do you cover areas outside your usual radius?+
Yes. We are happy to consider bookings further afield. Any additional travel or mileage charge is always confirmed before you book.
Are you insured and checked?+
Yes. The Tailored Pet Co is fully insured, DBS checked and trained in pet first aid. Supporting documents are available on request and will also be added to this website as they are received.
How will keys and access to my home be handled?+
Access arrangements are agreed privately during your introduction. Keys, codes and home information are handled discreetly and used only for the care you have booked.
What happens if my pet becomes unwell while I am away?+
Your care plan records your veterinary practice, emergency contacts and wishes. We will try to contact you immediately and seek appropriate veterinary help when an animal’s welfare requires it.
Are there additional charges on bank holidays?+
Our busiest dates, unsociable hours and bank holidays may carry an additional charge. This is always shown clearly in your quote before you confirm the booking.
What is your cancellation policy?+
Cancellation terms depend on the service and timing of the booking. The applicable terms are explained in your client agreement before the first booking is confirmed.
How do I request care?+
Call, WhatsApp or complete the enquiry form with your postcode, pets, service and preferred dates. We will confirm availability, provide a tailored quote and arrange an introduction.
